3.PROJECT PROFILE:

In the community of Jatun Juigua Yacubamba, there is Totora Pungo organization made of 31 women who are working on productive projects with the FEDICE.

The members of this organization learn about the Foundation's work from families close to them and who work in organizations with which FEDICE has been working for many years in the Jatun Juigua area.

The families of the Totora Pungo group decide to work with reimbursable funds under FEDICE policies.

By complying with the commitments, the Totora Pungo organization requests an increase in reimbursable funds for the next project. The foundation accepts the request and a meeting is held to develop a new project that will have a cost of $12,400, with which each family will receive $400.00 for beef cattle production.

The Totora Pungo organization has its own fund of $3,500, the result of the income generated and the families' savings. This fund will serve to increase the value of the reimbursable fund that each family will receive.

4. PROBLEM:

Inclement weather, bad genetics and little management knowledge are the main problems. If we genetically improve the animals we must improve the pastures, feeding and management in general.

Creole beef cattle produce little meat, so there is always a tendency to incorporate highly cross-bred cattle, guaranteeing resistance to diseases and a greater volume of meat production.
