PROJECT FOR THE STRENGTHENING OF THE PRODUCTION OF BOVINE MEAT WITH THE FAMILIES OF TUCUMBI CUCHO.

3. BACKGROUND

 

Tucumbi Cucho is a sector that belongs to the community of Jatun Juigua Yacubamba, it is made up of 127 families with an average of 4 children.

 

A group of 40 families called MUJERES LUCHADORAS DE TUCUMBI-CUCHO, is formed to work with FEDICE with a project to raise beef cattle in which they have shown strength in organization, compliance in the care of their production and compliance in economic management.

 

The organization asks FEDICE for support in a new project, committing to comply with the institutional and organization policies.

 

The organization of 40 women meets and ratifies the directive to work this year 2021-2022 on this new project.

 

The families are dedicated to agriculture producing for consumption and the market, the agricultural products they plant are: potatoes, broad beans, barley, corn, lupine, yellow carrot, garlic, lentils, mashua, melloco and grasses.

 

They are also dedicated to raising domestic animals of cross breeds such as cattle, sheep, pigs, guinea pigs and pigs. Agricultural products are sold at the local fairs.

 

The organization of 40 Women holds a work meeting to carry out a project on fattening cattle. Announcing the institution's policies on the amounts to lend, this year we raised each family to $500 for compliance with payments and responsibility in this time of pandemic.

 

The contribution of the foundation is 500 dollars per family (20,000 dollars).

The destination of the funds is for productive projects.

The main item is bovine meat.

The support of the foundation in addition to the funds will be the installation, monitoring, training and evaluation of the project.

 

 5. TYPE OF THE PROJECT

 

Production of bovine meat

The number of beneficiaries for this project proposal is 40 families who request a reimbursable fund of 20,000.00 dollars for the purchase of 40 bulls. Each family will receive $ 500.00

 

 

6. OBJETIVES

 

General objective:

To improve the level of organizational, economic, nutritional and technical life of the families of Tucumbi Cucho with the production of beef cattle

 

Specific objectives:

  • Introduce improved animals in family productions.

  • Development a training and technology transfer program.

  • Promote savings to form the common fund.

 

 

7. DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROJECT

 

The development of the project will be carried out as follows:

 

  1. Coordinate the activities with the producer families so that the project has a normal fulfillment.

  2. Coordinate with FEDICE for the development, implementation, installation, monitoring, training and evaluation of the project.

  3. Equitably distribute the resources of 500 dollars to each beneficiary in the form of a reimbursable fund for the installation of the project, for which they have each family sign a bill of exchange or promissory note.

  4. Coordinate with the foundation and members of the group for the purchase of animals.

  5. Recover every 4 months the capital plus the individual cost of training and monitoring of their companies, that is, the amount of 192 dollars

  6. Pay FEDICE for training and monitoring every 4 months, 25 dollars per family.

  7. Encourage savings, each family will save 5 dollars each month

  8. Make decisions based on a periodic evaluation.

  9. Support in the management and administration of the project.

  10. Actively participate in the development of the project.

  11. Contribute with the grass ¼ Ha. to guarantee the feeding of the bovine cattle.

  12. Contribute with facilities such as corals, stakes for the technical rearing of animals.

  13. Actively participate in the different trainings that FEDICE will give, every month.

  14. Provide transportation for the purchase of animals.

  15. Labor for planting pastures and for caring for animals.

  16. Purchase of animals at fairs, production centers or in nearby communities.

  17. Submit production and reproduction reports.

  18. Pay the reimbursable fund to the board.

  19. The organization will receive a reimbursable fund of $20,000.00 for the purchase of 40 animals.

  20. FEDICE will work together with the organization with the elaboration, installation, follow-up and evaluation of the project, training in different topics and presentation of reports, photographs reports

  21. Joint evaluation.

9. MONITORING AND EVALUATION

 

 

MONITORING

 

The follow-up of the activities will be carried out through: home visits to verify the productions, meetings to analyze difficulties and solve existing problems, recommendations and planning of activities. The families involved in the project will participate.

 

The activities to be carried out will be compiled through reports, records and photographs, which will serve for analysis in the evaluation.

 

EVALUATION

The progress of the project will be evaluated fairly in terms of the objectives set, in the plan of activities, budgets, goals and impacts. It will be carried out through: visits, interviews with the beneficiaries, meetings, among others. All the families involved in the project will participate in this process.
