Lisa Renz Fedice
Lisa Renz
Volunteer

Although born in Oregon, USA, Lisa worked and lived in Mexico as a missionary for the Churches of Christ/Christian Churches for 45 years. She is a graduate of Northwest Christian University. She applies her bilingual knowledge of English and Spanish as well as extensive experience in Christian education and missionary work to her roles in translation, organizing missionary groups, and designing Christian education modules.
Lisa has returned to the U.S. We thank Lisa for all her work with FEDICE and wish her many blessings in her new life.

Luis Cardenas Villacis
Administrative Assistant

Luis was the administrative assistant of FEDICE, in charge of carrying out daily logistics, helping with public relations and maintaining institutional business relations. Due to the economic situation, Fedice had to dispense with his services. We wish our dear “Luchito” success in his personal and professional life.

Mary Kathryn Ball
Voluntaria

Our last volunteer was Mary Kathryn Ball from Lexington, KY. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 2017 with a BA in Spanish with honors. She was also trained in medical interpretation and had a year of experience at the Community Care Center, a free clinic in Winston Salem, NC. Mary Kathryn also volunteered at the Leukemia and Blood Disorders Center in Salamanca, Spain.

At FEDICE, Kathyn was of great help especially for the first aid training workshops for women's groups in the communities. She had to return to the United States to continue her medical studies. Good luck and blessings, Kathryn!

Olga Yesenia Yan Pardo
Volunteer

Olga loves serving people who take Christ as their living model. She is Dominican, with a degree in Marketing and Social Work from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Volunteering is her passion. Since her teenage years she has identified with the most vulnerable, and has had experience working closely with those who have had their rights violated in multiple ways. I worked for six years at the "Caminante" Project, a non-profit educational organization that promotes and defends the rights of children.

Bethany Waggoner
Volunteer

Bethany Waggoner, came from Eugene, Oregon, as a volunteer with Global Ministries. She learned about Fedice through the Disciples of Christ Regional Office in this area with which Fedice has worked together for several years.

When Bethany arrived, her command of Spanish was not very fluent, so she took Spanish classes and after a year and a half of working with us, her fluency in the Spanish language was remarkable, so we contributed so that after her time with Fedice she could go and support other organizations in Latin America and benefit more people with her knowledge, enthusiasm and ability.

Bethany worked primarily in the communications area, redesigning the Fedice website and conducting several training workshops for the Fedice team.

One of the main results of Bethany's activities at Fedice is the production of videos and interviews with people from the communities Fedice works with, which are helping us to promote and raise awareness about Fedice's activities.

Jenny Velasquez
Social Technique

FEDICE gave me the opportunity to put my knowledge into practice and share experiences with professionals from whom I learned a lot, as well as to meet entrepreneurs and humanitarian groups without whose help it would not be possible to continue the legacy of Dr. Victor Vaca, a wonderful experience that will never be erased from my mind and my heart. Blessings and may you have many more years.

Marilyn is the anchor of “FEDICE Norte” based in Otavalo. Her main activity is teaching English in the pre-schools of the region, and when we have missionary groups visiting the FEDICE Norte area, she is an excellent hostess, and right now very knowledgeable about the area and its tourist attractions.
