FEDICE partners with indigenous and marginalized rural communities throughout Ecuador’s famous Avenue of the Volcanos on transformative projects designed to end cyclical and historic poverty and injustice. We are currently engaged with 19 communities in the provinces of Carchi, Imbabura,Cotopaxi and Esmeraldas.
IMBABURA
The Province of Imbabura, is located in the north of the country. Its administrative capital is the city of Ibarra, bordered to the north by Carchi, to the south by Pichincha, to the west by Esmeraldas, and to the east by Sucumbíos.
It has a very unique importance for the history of the northern part of Ecuador, because it is a midpoint between the coast and the Amazon. Since ancestral times it has established as a meeting point between cultures, merchants and religious events.
