Cualchi Cabascango Family
Background
FEDICE seeks to give happiness to people who can offer us more than we can give. The Cualchi-Cabascango Family is one of them. After gathering information, seeing their needs and sharing the situation of the family with our friends, we were able to help and provide them with a dignified and warm home.
The Family lives in the community of Pijal-Otavalo, González Suarez parish. It is a family made up of 5 members: Rodrigo, the father of the family, Elsa the mother and their three children Ariel, 10 years old, Isaac, 7 years old, and Paloma, 9 months old. Isaac the second son, is a child with a physical disability in his leg and his ability to speak has not developed very well.
We met the family through the coordinator of the San Pedro children's center, which we have also helped for several years.
Development
The roof of the house was Eternit (a material made with fiber cement). It had a cement floor and a room that was used as a kitchen and a bedroom. The old house did not provide enough comfort for the family and especially for Isaac who needs adequate and safe housing.

With the help of friends from FEDICE we managed to adapt the house for the family. Today Isaac and his family have a house with a tile roof, walls, plaster, electrical system, doors and windows. The bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom are efficiently distributed.

The total cost of adapting the new house is $8,327.60 where the family has made a large contribution of labor
We want to thank all the people who contributed to the adaptation of the Cualchi family's home. Their contribution was great and allowed us to provide the security of a warm home to those who need it most.
The way that allows us to continue helping the weakest is to see the great change from a cold place without the necessary conditions to live in a comfortable and warm place that changes their way of living. We managed to transform lives!!
We are waiting for the arrival of missionary groups who will meet the family and will also be part of this transformation.
