SAN MIGUEL

The El Chaupi Community is located in the Cotopaxi province. FEDICE works with 32 families in this community, 30 of which are represented by women. In El Chaupi, raising crops can be risky, due to weather and price variation, so FEDICE has been training the women on the most profitable way to raise cattle. This includes training on how to buy the most productive cattle, cultivate pastures for feed, remove parasites, give vaccines, vitamins, and how to breed. In addition to increased profit and productivity, raising cattle also provides fertilizer for crops, and a protein source to improve nutrition.
